Council boot Gills off the training ground

Gillingham have until the end of the week to return the keys to the training ground or legal proceeding will be started against the club by the council.

Medway Council claims that The Gills owe them more than £30,000 in unpaid utility bills and as such they have ordered the club to leave the training ground.

Paul Scally, as he told BBC Radio Kent, is very surprised by this: 'nobody saw fit to call me or discuss it with me.

'There are disputes on the utility bills which go back a long time which have never been resolved.

'I've no idea how much we owe them because I wasn't aware there was an issue. We were paying on standing order but apparently that stopped, and I don't know why.

'We probably do owe them some money but we haven't had any discussion on a payment method in the last six months.'

This is another negative story surrounding the club that isn't really doing Gillingham's image that much good so for the sake of everyone hopefully this, and other issues of negativity of late, can soon be resolved.

It will be interesting to see what the next move will be though?
