Weston moves on
Martin Allen's first task as the new Gillingham manager has been to deliver the news to Curtis Weston that he wasn't wanted, again!
The 25-year-old midfielder was actually released by The Gills in May at the end of his contract but returned to take part in pre-season training.
When asking Allen what his intentions towards him were he was told, as Allen told BBC Radio Kent: 'I had a chat with him on Monday and I'm not ready to make a decision on him. I told him he could leave.
'He asked me for a decision and I told him I couldn't make one. He's left the club now.
'I said 'good luck'. He said 'thanks'.'
You can understand Weston wanting to know what the score was so he can get his future secured, which I am sure he will elsewhere.
