Reeves opts to stay with Altrincham
Damian Reeves was 'poised' to join Gillingham last week but just a few hours after turning out for The Gills in their weekend friendly with Dartford he had signed a new deal with Altrincham.
The Striker, who has scored 63 goals in 79 games for Altrincham, says that he wanted to join The Gills but with Martin Allen asking him to go away and work on his fitness for two-weeks and then return he was financially not in a position to do so.
As such the plaster by trade has decided that it was financially better for him to sign a new two-year contract with the non-league outfit to assure himself of a regular wage!
To be fair you cannot blame the guy can you?
