McCammon wins case again Gillingham

The case brought against Gillingham FC by Mark McCammon has ruled in favour of the former Gills striker.

McCammon felt that he was racially victimised by a series of events that led up to his dismissal for misconduct and an employment tribunal has ruled in the 33-year-olds favour.

He claimed that he, and other black players were forced to attend training during bad weather in November 2010 whereas other white players, and some lived closer to the training ground, did not need to. Among the other grievances that he had McCammon also said that he wasn't offered private treatment on an injury and was instead only offered NHS treatment with a teammate flown to Dubai for a private operation at the clubs expense.

Gillingham were "hugely disappointed, in fact staggered, by this decision" with an appeal possible.
