When Charlton came to Priestfield on Saturday afternoon, pre-season or not, a large number would have expected them to beat Gillingham. They didn't, in fact it was The Gills that won!
Not only will Gillingham's derby rivals be playing two league higher than The Gills this season they had been unbeaten in pre-season but Danny Kedwell's first half strike ended that run and gave the home side a 1-0 win.
