Barrett & Weston double signing!

Barrett & Weston sounds like some estate agent or something, but Gillingham have completed a "double swoop" for the defender and winger.

As had been rumoured defender Adam Barrett has signed from Bournemouth, while winger Myles Weston joins from Brentford.

On the double signing Martin Allen said: 'we have been after both of these players for several weeks now.

'They both have good experience of getting promotion from this division.

'With these two we get leadership, goals, experience, speed and excitement.'

32-year-old Barrett signed for an undisclosed fee on a one-year deal with the option of a second and 24-year-old Weston on a two-year deal, again for an undisclosed amount.

A good mix of youth and experience signed here to give Allen another couple of good options, although both are experienced (despite varying ages) and can definitely perform at league two level, and above!
