Allen - What a magic second-half

Gillingham kept up their winning start to the season with a midweek win at Wycombe.

Martin Allen has hailed a "magic second half" with his players credited following the 1-0 win: 'What a magic second-half, that was a fantastic second-half performance from the players.

'To see them once again celebrating in front of our travelling support that sung their hearts out from start to finish behind that goal is great.'

The anticipated tough game that Allen expected came to fruition with The Gills getting the win he felt they deserved: 'It was always going to be hard here, they almost beat Watford last week in the cup so we knew it was going to be tough.

'I thought we did ok in the first-half, but in the second we went up another level with pace and power - we lifted our game completely and thoroughly deserved to win.'

Can Gillingham make it three from three? The weekend will soon tell us, and with confidence high you wouldn't bet against Allen's men!
