'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fish tied down

Matt Fish's form for Gillingham has seen him rewarded with a new contract, tying him down to The Gills for a little longer.

Martin Allen was left in little doubt that he deserves this for his services as a footballer and a person: 'Fish has been outstanding, he will only get better, and better, and better.

'He is a good person, has a great attitude and I am delighted that the supporters have warmed to him, have embraced him and are now seeing a proper decent player, without giving him a good grilling.

'As we all know, knocking anybody in society or on the football pitch has no benefit.'

The 23-year-old, who is closing in on a half century of performances following his arrival from Dover, would have been out of contract at the end of the season but not now following this extension!
