Vincelot gets his priorities right

Romain Vincelot marked his Gillingham debut in style; his goal gave The Gills a 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.

The Frenchman, who only arrived on loan the Friday before the game, has got his priorities in order though!

Vincelot, who has signed until January from Brighton, has been impressed with the club setup but knows victory was more important than his goal, as he told Gills Player: 'A goal on my debut is of course maybe the best way to begin, but most importantly we won, so a goal plus a win - that's the perfect debut.

'A goal with a defeat would have been not a good start. We won, I scored and I'm happy with that even if it was not a great game.

'But I'm happy with what I have seen, I really like the spirit, there's a proper winning team spirit and that's good.'

The midfielder seems a level headed guy, who will certainly win over even more fans if he continues to do the business on the pitch and continues to talk in such a way off it!
