Burton double wins it for Gills

Rotherham 1-2 Gillingham
8th December 2012
15:00
New York Stadium

Deon Burton returned to haunt one of his former sides Rotherham on Saturday afternoon as Gillingham came away with the points.

The scoring was opened early on when Deon Burton (11) stabbed home but Rotherham, on at least two occasions almost levelled but couldn't manage this.

Burton (57) doubled The Gills' lead just before the hour, with that looking like it would be enough to secure the points.

Rotherham were given hope just past the midway point of the second half when Jason Taylor (69) reduced the deficit, but even with 11-mintues of injury-time (following a serious injury to Romain Vincelot) an equaliser couldn't be found with Gillingham holding onto a 2-1 win.
