McDonald Earns Gills A Late Point

Gillingham 1-1 York
26th January 2013
15:00
Priestfield

Gillingham forced a late leveller at Priestfield to secure them a point against York on Saturday afternoon.

Diverting the ball into his own net, Charlie Lee (17) gave York an early lead with a fine save from Michael Ingham denying Gillingham an equalizer before the break.

The post saved Gills from going two-nil down on the hour, which probably would have been game over?

Having made all three changes Gillingham were forced to play the final 10-minutes with only 10-men with Lee forced off, however having returned in midweek for a second loan spell with the club Cody McDonald (85) did what he was brought in to do, scored!

That goal earned The Gills a 1-1 draw, so it meant it was "as you were" at the top of the League Two table.
