Gills See Off Daggers To Top The Table

Gillingham saw off Dagenham at Priestfield on Saturday afternoon, capitalising of Port Vale's slip up to return to the top of the League Two table.
On the half hour Gillingham were ahead, despite a flag being raised Leon Legge's (29) goal was given. This lead was taken into the break.
Dagenham weren't giving up though and capitalised on a defensive mistake to level early in the second half through Femi Ilesanmi (52).
Gillingham really should have been ahead again, but the chance was spurned however at the midway point of the second half a penalty was awarded to give them the chance from the spot. Having only been on the field a matter of minutes Deon Burton (68) made no mistake to restore the home sides lead.
The Daggers pushed for another equaliser but couldn't manage this with Gillingham running out 2-1 winners.
