Mike Robbins has been assisting Gillingham in future recruitment in recent weeks, and will continue to do so for a little longer.
Martin Allen, as he told KentOnline, has appreciated Robbins' help and hopes he can help identify some players with next season in mind.
This arrangement remains a short-term one, however this will be reviewed down the line: 'This job is only, at the moment, a temporary position and we will see how he goes through to the end of the season. He has been here for a couple of weeks and will work for another six weeks, helping me to recruit for next season.
Robbins has been challenged with compiling a database that Allen can access at "the touch of a button", The Gills boss added: 'It is essential to have that database. Database is a big old word but all that is, is a file of right-backs, left-backs, centre-backs, goalkeepers, midfielders, wingers and forwards.
'You can put sheets of paper into a big folder but I want it onto disc so it should then be within the club for the future. So whatever happens to me in the future, Gillingham Football Club will have a proper database.'
A win-win situation for Gillingham really, in the short-term and potentially the long-term too!
