'If It's Football, It's Vital'

On The Brink!

Gillingham stand on the brink of promotion to League One, automatic promotion could be confirmed today if results go their way.

A play off berth is secured, that isn't enough though and it's unlikely they'll have to settle for that anyway.

Promotion can be guaranteed today if...

* They are able to be Torquay today and Northampton, Burton and Rotherham fail to win. Burton have already lost, they were hammered by second placed Port Vale 7-1 on Friday night.

* Alternatively a draw with Torquay and Cheltenham failing to win coupled with Burton and Rotherham losing will do. As we know Burton did lose!

Should Gillingham manage to do what they need to today, and others fail to do what they need to stay in the hunt, then they would become the first Football League side to secure promotion.

Without wishing to tempt fate promotion is already done really, so the next step would be to secure the title!
