Injury Sees Midfielder Return To Huddersfield
Anton Robinson's loan spell with Gillingham has been prematurely ended by injury.
Cruciate ligament damage has seen the midfielder, who turned out 14 times for The Gills, return to his parent club Huddersfield and undergo surgery.
Martin Allen has admitted his disappointment at losing Robinson as he enjoyed working with him, and had considered making a summer move for the former Bournemouth man, but with the nature of his injury likely to keep him out for six-nine-months such a move is now unlikely.
Perhaps Allen will revisit things with Robinson in next January's transfer window, however for now any plans of trying to tempt Huddersfield into parting with the midfielder, who still has a year on his Terriers contract, are on hold.
It's disappointing for all concerned but these things happen in football and you have to just accept this sometimes.
