Hessenthaler Leaves Priestfield

Having left his role as manager of Gillingham last May, Andy Hessenthaler took up a director of football position instead.

A desire to return to management has seen Paul Scally "reluctantly" agree to let the 47-year-old move on.

Scally revealed that he has refused permission to other clubs for them to talk to Hessenthaler during the season but couldn't do so any more, however he leaves with the club best wishes for the future with the role he'd played in Gillingham's moves forward acknowledged.
