Martin Stays With Gills

The anticipated stay at Gillingham for Joe Martin has been confirmed.

A new two-year deal has been signed with Martin Allen, as he told KentOnline, thrilled at this. He said: 'Last season, Joe was quite simply amazing.

'As a person, he is conscientious, hard-working, dedicated and he has a desire to play higher.

'He has all the attributes, on and off the field, to get better and better.'

Martin played a key role in The Gills' success last season and his performances earned him the Players' Player of the year award as well as a place in the League Two team of the season, with the step up to League One almost certainly something he'll easily adapt too.
