Howard Homeward Bound
When news of George Howard's injury broke, which left him critically injured, some might have been forgiven for thinking that he might not return to the UK from South Africa.
The news this week has been much more positive though with it revealed that the former Gillingham 'keeper will be well enough to return to the country within 'the next week or so'.
20-year-old Howard was critically injured in a car crash while on holiday in South Africa on May 23rd and this left him on a life support machine but his recovery has been good and he'll be well enough to travel back to the UK soon.
Costs of his treatment were said to cost more than £15,000 per day so online donations were raised to help these costs, fortunately the former Gills' 'keepers insurance company have since confirmed that they'll be covering the cost so the monies raised will be used to help his rehabilitation when he returns home.
Best of luck to Howard in his continued recovery.
