Gills Win At Folkestone

Gillingham fielded a strong side from the off against Folkestone Invicta on Friday night and it was the Gills that ran out 3-1 winners at the Fullicks Stadium.

The official website reports that 'minor injuries' to Aaron Morris, Glenn Morris, Josh Pritchard and Amine Linganzi meant that they missed the friendly but other summer signings, which some of these are, did feature for a first time this didn't come until the second half though when Peter Taylor introduced them.

Trialist winger Josh Stanford got a start as did Gary Borrowdale, who wasn't able to really make an impact last season when Taylor brought him in for the second half of the season.

Danny Kedwell, Brennan Dickenson, one of the new signings, and Doug Loft were all goalscorers for the Gills on the night.
