Wright In Team Of The Week (28/2/17)

Wright In Team Of The Week (28/2/17)

Gillingham are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Josh Wright in the two one victory over Southend United at the weekend at the Priestfield Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Wright was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Ady Pennock finally got off the mark as Gillingham manager, and he had Wright to thank for seeing them past Southend United. The midfielder struck two goals just before half-time and they proved decisive, with the Gills going on to record a 2-1 triumph.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Wright for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Connor Ripley (Oldham Athletic), Alex Whitmore (Morecambe), James Chester (Aston Villa), Cameron Burgess (Bury), Jamie Murphy (Brighton), Josh Wright (Gillingham), David Davis (Birmingham City), Jota (Brentford), Conor McAleny (Oxford United), Billy Sharp (Sheffield United), Nicky Ajose (Swindon Town).

Manager - Paul Cook (Portsmouth).
