Wright In Team Of The Week (14/3/17)

Wright In Team Of The Week (14/3/17)

Gillingham are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Josh Wright in the three two victory over Scunthorpe United at the weekend at the Priestfield Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Wright was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'There wasn't a more composed man in the EFL this weekend, with Wright converting not one, not two, but three penalties as Gillingham defeated Scunthorpe United. The midfielder's treble came within a nine-minute spell, and capped a remarkable comeback at the Priestfield.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Wright for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jamal Blackman (Wycombe Wanderers), Luke Wilkinson (Stevenage), Aden Flint (Bristol City), John Brayford (Burton Albion), Filipe Morais (Bolton Wanderers), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), Josh Wright (Gillingham), Kal Naismith (Portsmouth), Medy Elito (Cambridge United), JJ Hooper (Port Vale), Tom Barkhuizen (Preston North End).

Manager - Mike Flynn (Newport County).
