Who Are Ya... Yeovil?

Who Are Ya... Yeovil?
Who are ya? Yeovil Town

Nickname: The Glovers

Ground: Huish Park

How to get there: By Car: From Gillingham, take the A229 to the M20, then take the M26 to the M25 clockwise. Exit M25 at junction 12, the M3. Leave the M3 at the A303, which is then left at the A37, signposted Ilchester. At the first roundabout take the second exit and follow signs to Yeovil. Follow the road for 4-5miles until you reach another roundabout and turn right (the 3rd exit) this takes you to a staggered double mini-roundabout(s). Take the second exit here and follow the road with houses on your left and fields on your right to another mini-roundabout. Straight on here past a turning on your left that leads onto a residential area. Keep going straight on for a approximately a quarter of a mile and take the next left turn. Drive up the hill and take the first turning right. The stadium is visible on the left. Distance from Priestfield: 171 miles. Approximate time: 3hrs 3mins

Nearest station: Yeovil Pen MillWebsites: Vital Yeovil, Official website.

Manager: Russell Slade, in charge since June 2006Previous games v Gillingham:

11/02/06: League One - Yeovil (Jevons (pen), Cohen, Terry, Davies) 4-3 Gillingham (Black, Flynn, Crofts)

15/10/05: League One - Gillingham 0-0 Yeovil

10/12/49: FA Cup Round 2 - Yeovil 3-1 Gillingham

All-time record v the Gills:

Matches: 3
Gills wins: 0
Draws: 1
Yeovil wins: 2Remember me? Wayne Gray was heavily linked with the Gills back in May when the rumour mill suggested that we were on the verge of signing a player from Southend. Instead, we signed Mark Bentley and Duncan Jupp and the former MK Dons man has moved to Huish Park to sign for a team that the Gills have never beaten.Man to watch: Arron Davies. A Welsh under-21 team-mate of Andrew Crofts, a lot rests on the young striker after the departure of Phil Jevons. Of any one of the Glovers' strikers, he looks to be the most likely to step up and reach double figures.2006/07 prospects: Yeovil stayed up quite comfortably last season but they will really feel the loss of Jevons, and even though Chris Cohen's arrival on a permanent basis is a massive boost, aside from him they don't appear to have significantly improved their squad and they will find themselves entrenched in the relegation battle.
