All-time record v the Gills:
Gills wins: 12
Crewe wins: 16Remember me? A win at Gresty Road. In the absence of any players who are at the Alex having previously played for the Gills, it'll be nice to remember a time when we actually won at Crewe. The last win was on September 11, 1971, 30 years before the date got it's infamous memories. Since then, we have collected just two points from 10 trips to Crewe, one the following season and again in December 2003 thanks to a superb strike from David Perpetuini.Man to watch: Billy Jones. The Crewe conveyor belt of stars has slowed down in recent years but Jones already looks destined for bigger things. At just 19, the defender is nearing 100 appearances for the club and is sure to soon have bigger clubs calling.2006/07 prospects: That Crewe play nice football is one of the oldest clichés in the footballing world. It should be enough to get them into the top 10 this time around, but the bigger picture is not so healthy. They have a lot fewer young stars these days and are desperately short in attack. Dario Gradi has been in charge for more than 23 years, but you have to wonder if the Alex may have to consider a change in the not too distant future.
